|
|
MINNESOTA SIRE SERIES
This is a contest where residents must breed a horse using a specified sire (Forestry) and that runner is restricted to running in a 12 race series over 36 weeks. The races are a mix of sprints, routes, dirt and grass races. While a horse does not have to compete in all 12 races of the series to remain eligible they are limited to running in the series and will be disqualified if they race in a race outside of the contest while it is still in progress. First 20 entries are in.
The chosen sire is picked by the previous contest winner (Twaits has selected Forestry) and then there is a 20 week period for residents to breed there horse (******** see below for very important info)
The purse structure for the series is as follows:
RACES 1 THRU 6---$50K PURSES
RACES 7 THRU 10---$75K PURSES
RACES 11 THRU 12---$100K PURSES
The top 3 money earners at the end of the 12 race series will earn the following credit prizes.
1ST PLACE= 3000 CREDITS
2ND PLACE=1500 CREDITS
3RD PLACE=1000 CREDITS
Races will be held every 3 weeks and will be purchased by the residence.(although donations will be gladly accepted and probably needed. Thank you to Twaits who generously donated part of his winnings in the Came Home Series towards this one)
***** The first race will be held January 9, 2010 and will be for three year olds. This means you should plan accordingly and breed a two year old this year so it turns three in time for the race.

Will having young 3 year olds be a problem with the 12f and 16f runs in the schedule?
Just asking, I do like that we can do 2 year olds this year for next. |

| are we to breed a 2 year old or a 3 year old if we breed in 2009. I know the first race coincides with the end of the yearish. Didn't do the math exactly |

Players cannot bid/buy races longer than 11f for 3yos until June. Any longer race carded before then is done by the CPU.
this will change things, so let me figure it out today. |

| if i have figured this out correctly, the best way to handle this would be to switch the order of races by switching the 12 furlongs and the 7 furlongs. thoughts? |

Or breed 3 year olds in 2009 and make the races for 4 year olds? Or start them in late 2009 instead of january?

some of us (me) would recommend anything that keeps it to 2yo's of 09 because some of us (me) may have already bred one to beat the crowd. Of course some of us (me) needed the head start so that some of us (me) has plenty of time to get some backup ponies. So do what's best for some of us (me) and swap whatever race order needed to keep it 2yo's of 09.
thanks,
some of us (me) |
