The 2008 Minnesota Downs contest schedule is now out. There are 20 contests that will be run at Minnesota this year and I added contests that were requested by members in the earlier thread. All of out current contests from last year are running plus the following new contests.

YOU CAN SEE THE ENTIRE LINEUP BY CHECKING OUT THE CONTEST LINK FROM THE HOMEPAGE OR AT:

http://home.comcast.net/~mndowns/contests.html

1)MINNESOTA CLAIMING TOUR CONTEST---similar to the Mt Everest contest except claiming levels are used as the stage settings.

2)MINNESOTA FANTASY STABLE CONTEST---a contest similar to the TVG Fantasy stable contest in real horse racing except that each residents stables can only be filled with their own resident based horses and points are scored for different levels of racing rather than just stakes races.

3)MINNESOTA BINGO CONTEST---a new style of contest where a player tries to fill out a bingo card where the numbers corespond to the track numbers in the sim.

4)MINNESOTA TAG CONTEST---a 3rd breeding contest where you breed 3 tag horses as shown on rule page and race them all year scoring points based on their results.

FOR OUR NEW MEMBERS JUST A NOTE THAT ALL CONTEST ENTRY THREADS ARE POSTED UP ON THE CONTEST BOARD ON WEDNESDAYS AND ENTRY DEADLINE IS 11AM GAMETIME ON SATURDAYS. IF THE REWRITE OF THE SIM CAUSES CHANGES IN RACE SCHEDULES THERE MAY BE SLIGHT RULE CHANGES IN THE CONTEST TO ACCOMODATE THE CHANGES IN THE GAME.

I HAVE SET UP ENTRY THREADS IN THE NOMINATIONS BOARD FOR THE FOLLOWING CONTESTS THAT NEED TO BE ENTERED.

1)MINNESOTA CUP 08 CONTEST
2)MINNESOTA FANTASY STABLE CONTEST
3)MINNESOTA BINGO CONTEST

ALL OTHER CONTESTS CAN BE JOINED AUTOMATICALLY WHEN ENTERING THE WEEKLY ENTRY THREADS.

SOME CONTESTS DO NOT HAVE RESULT PAGE LINKS UP YET AND WILL HAVE THEM ONCE THE CONTESTS STARTS.

ENJOY AND LETS ALL HAVE A GREAT 2008 SEASON OF SIM RACING.

Theo,

For the CLAIMING TOUR CONTEST, does one horse need to make it to the top or can you use a differenct horse each week?

Thanks,

Tom

You can use a different horse each week as long as the horse is in your minny stables.
