came home final race password

The next series is going to start on 11/29/08. Due to the cost, I ask any resident who can afford it to donate the cost of one race. This will not be mandatory but highly appreciated. Also, this series is open to all residents, whether extremely active or not, and whether they join the residency after this post or not.  I will cap it at the first 20 entries - should we get that many.

Here are the rules for the series:

MINNESOTA SIRE SERIES

This is a contest where residents must breed a horse using a specified sire (Came Home) and that runner is restricted to running in a 12 race series over 36 weeks. The races are a mix of sprints, routes, dirt and grass races. While a horse does not have to compete in all 12 races of the series to remain eligible they are limited to running in the series and will be disqualified if they race in a race outside of the contest while it is still in progress.

The chosen sire is picked by the previous contest winner and then there is a 20 week period for residents to breed their horse (3 year old).

The purse structure for the series is as follows:
RACES 1 THRU 6---$50K PURSES
RACES 7 THRU 10---$75K PURSES
RACES 11 THRU 12---$100K PURSES

The top 3 money earners at the end of the 12 race series will earn the following credit prizes.

1ST PLACE= 3000 CREDITS
2ND PLACE=1500 CREDITS
3RD PLACE=1000 CREDITS

Races will be held every 3 weeks and will be purchased by the residence..

entrants may replace their entry at any point in the series but will lose credit for anything earned up to that point.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please enter you horse in this thread. Put the Name, Sex, ID, stable to enter. Make sure you breed a three year old. The horse will turn four early into the series; so that may be something to consider when picking blood lines.

Here is the  racing schedule. :

Chuck and all,

I recommend we cut a couple races from this contest. I think it would be better to keep the contest under a year in duration and we could use the credits for other things.

Tom
chuckrock

I would be fine with that. any objections?
dundey

Are the residents buying these races?  I thought I  saw that somewhere.
Either way, I'll play - and pay for a race if needed.

But I agree that maybe it can be shortened a bit to ease the amount of races purchased.

you read it above in this thread Smile

"Due to the cost, I ask any resident who can afford it to donate the cost of one race. This will not be mandatory but highly appreciated."
Johnno

I think it should be a 12 race series. One every 3 weeks. I will also pay for one of the races.

Johnno
chuckrock

as someone who has been in both sire series til the end and had no shot at winning either one, i definitely like the idea of shortening it..even if it just means we get t the next one faster. Thus I have changed the rules to reflect this. I edited the top post so that it now has the new rules. I have also changed the prizes a little.
Baggio

Call me a fool or sim ignorant Chuck, BUT, I do NOT know how to donate a race. IF one day you feel like explaining it to me, I will gladly donate one.
Also, how long do we have to breed the Came Home horse? Any restrictions on the DS or DDS?
 Thanks,
Mark

1. no restriction on ds/dds - that is the point of the contest, come up with the best combo.

2. you would just transfer the cost of the race to my chuckrock account to reimburse what i lay out.

3. at the moment we are set for an 11/29 start so if that holds as long as you breed before that and are one of the first 20 to post your in. HOWEVER, I have sent a request to mike to see if he will do us a favor. If he does, then the starting week will come sooner.
Johnno

Am I wrong in saying that the breeding has to be a scratch breeding and using retired mares are not allowed??

Johnno

In the past - the only rules were that the horse be by the selected sire, 3yrs old, and unraced at the start of the contest. I used a he-mare last time.

yeah i don't think that is the rule. if it is i never knew it.
marmac

I'm in and can donate credits for a race. Can we put this up as a sticky?
chuckrock

Mike never emailed me back (starting to become a habit- i don't think he likes me Smile )

I will post race schedule after equinics this week. One monumental event is all i can handle at a time Smile
marmac

Looks like I have the first entry.

Wahnfried(jpn)

Thanks.
chuckrock

I have posted a proposed racing schedule above. I will give it a few days to see if anyone has any issues with it before purchasing
darnath

169372 MONRATHOME(JPN) Filly drat stable
chuckrock

the first two races have been purchased. I came across a question though.

in this series a resident has a chance to replace their entry. I think this means that the races that are post Jan 1 I have to make as 3 yr old +, so that if someone does breed a new one they can still enter. am i correct here?
dundey

Chuck,
since we have to breed a 3YO for this contest and it starts on 11/29, I don't see too many people replacing their horses.  You would have to breed your replacement horse before 12/31.

But the races could be 3YO's until 12/31 and 4YO after or all 3+, does not really matter.
Team CK

I bred one for this.

CK Canned Heat (Jpn)

ID # 170514  3 Year Old Homebred Brown Colt

Team CK

What would be the cost to donate a race?

Thanks Jack
chuckrock

its 800 credits per race. my credit account is chuckrock.

feel free to send them there Smile

when i am done purchasing i am going to ask johnno to send me something, but it definitely helps if residents donate.
marmac

Sent 800 your way.
fabman

chuckrock

ok, because i am an incredible dunce, i had to restructure the purse amounts above.

i've also just discovered that the cost of a 75k purse is 1100 credits. so keep that in mind when/if you donate. i'd imagine the 100k ones are even more.
Team CK

1500 credits sent to chuckrock account.

Thanks for all your work Chuckrock.

gredit option?

does anyone know if CAME HOME ever takes credits? and how many credits does a race cost? thanks
chuckrock

the races cost between 800- 1400 depending on the races' purse. All donations can be sent to mnaccount at this point, as I have been reimbursed.

Came Home is open for credits just like every other sire. If you keep missing him its likely that someone else in the res has used him to enter here.

THEO

There really is no cutoff for breeding but if you want to be in for the first race of the series you would want to have it bred and ready to run on that day.

Theo
fabman

450 credits sent from fabman to mnaccount.

Thanks kids!
alishan

Ok I bred mine today so I'll get it on Sunday.

CAME HOME TO COLAC

Ok I am an idiot.

I bred a 2 year old by mistake  Confused

I'll breed a 3 year old next week as I'm using credits and don't have enough bp's to do another this week.

Obviously please disregard my previous post.

I'll post the 3 year old version next week.

Oh and I sent 500 credits to mnaccount

Sorry for the confusion

actually a little bit different than normal. since the contest spans into 2009, if you breed after new years it will be hard to compete because 1. you'll have a three year compared to our 4 year olds, and 2. a few of the races the sim wouldn't let me choose 3 yr + because of distances in 09.
whirlaway

Alishan... your loss, my gain! I have been looking for a Came Home 3yo to breed by points as I'm struggling financially and just can't do credits right now. His 3yo is always gone fast with credits, but sure 'nuff this week he was still available Sat night! Hope you can get the credit 3yo this week Smile

Team CK

Am I seeing things or is this weeks race supposed to be Turf and is actually our second in a row at 16f Dirt?
chuckrock

BOO to the idiot that bought these races. can't even get the surface correct!
cothill

I do not know how much more of this my horse can take. Distanced the last four races in a row Embarassed
