claiming crownI just happened to be reading theo's last 'This week in Minnesota' article tonight (trying to teach myself what how to write these things  ) and i noticed this announcement:
'Minnesota Downs will also be hosting the CLAIMING CROWN races this year and there will be a prizehorse for the winner of each of the 7 races. More detail will be posted as we get closer to raceday."
we have a bunch of prizehorses, maybe we should honor his commitment. thoughts?

It would be fun, but we do have a lot going on.
I guess as long as the res has the credits to buy the races we could do it, but maybe its better to wait on this one.
I don't know, I'm tired!
BTW, are we giving out a prize horse for Smackdown? Maybe the resident that wins the most points for MN or something like that.

1st place rez gets:

2nd place rez gets:

whatever Minnesota wins will be distributed to those residents that score the most points for the residency in order.
these are the prizes that come directly from smackdown. do you think we should add to it?

Chuck,
I feel that if we have plenty of prize horses (and that is the only reqirement) then we should honor Theos wishes and give a prize horse to each winner. We don't have to bid or buy any races or anything like that do we? Just a thought

i was leaning towards that, even if i have to breed a few myself to add to the pool. I'll probably decide definitely tonight when i can sit and map out exactly what we have and what opportunities I have to breed some decent ones. I got another coming to the duluth stable last night that should like the turf.
