Idea/proposal for next trainer's contest. Please weigh in on this idea. It would be in effect for the next trainer's contest; not the current one.
No one person can take home more than 1 prize. This way if someone has the top two stables, whomever comes in third would receive the second place prize and so forth.

Prizes should be earned in my opinion. What you are suggesting is rewarding failure and is only one step up from just doing away with contests and having a lucky dip that gives some credits to some random resident for the sake of spreading credits around, well from my point of view anyway.
I had a feeling that something might be wrong for a while now and thought that again after the total U-turn the other day regarding the bp and $$ yearly contests (strange thing was that I didn't even win those), I told myself I was being paraniod though. I can't tell myself that with this subject matter however seeing I was the one who swept the last trainers contest.
I was really chuffed when I swept it and although I had no idea if it had ever been done before I felt I had really earned it and achieved something to be proud of. Afterall the contest includes every stable that supports the rez and although there may be some set up to do well in the specific contest I don't have that luxury with my small outfit if I wish to try my hand at other contests here too.
Anyway no point in me wittering on. I have enjoyed the competition here against some quality trainers but I am obviously having a detrimental affect on the residency and that was never my intention.
My apologies to anyone I might have irked, please remove my stables from the contests here when time allows.
Thanks.

Not that this affects me, but I agree with wenlock. A stable stands on it's own merits. Who owns it should not matter.
I liken this to something that happened in one of my bowling leagues. We had a pot of gold and on this particular night, the pot was about $600 and the score to beat was down to 255.
The first game I shot 258. The second game, somebody else shot 255. The last game, I shot 258 again. The other guy argued that there was only two winners, me and him. We should split. I said it's not the person, it's the score that breaks the pot and I have two of them. I got 2/3 of the pot, as it should be. I think the same holds true here.

First I want to say that there is no other res that has done so much for its members. From the beginning with Dennis, then Johnno, Theo of course and most recently Chuck. All have given a tremendous amount of time and often credits from there own pockets. When I see a response like Wenlock's it really makes me wonder.
Therefore, I totally disagree with the first 2 responses.
This res has always been built on friendly competition. Competitive yes, but always with a sense of camaraderie for our fellow members.
Many people have always pitched in to purchase races (MN Day, etc.) and have all helped to get this place to where it is. Recently quite a few have, returned credits, etc to keep it moving forward.
To have 1 person be able to win all prizes in any given contest contradicts that spirit.
Anyway, I think that 1 prize per resident is fair and the way to go. I also know of a few other places that have the same rule. I would think it would help keep everyone in the game and thats part of what this is about.
Frankly if someone is here only to win credits, let em fly.

Well that sucks. Wenlock, that is the last thing I want. I absolutely respect your opinion here about not liking the idea, but I am quite shocked about the rest of your post.
You felt something was wrong here...so your saying I am doing something wrong in running this place? Care to be specific? I told everyone when i took this on that I was no theo and i couldn't donate as much time as he did (nor could I donate as much credits to the cause as he apparantly did - i didn't even know that he did until after he left). Quite frankly I am doing better than I even expected, imop.
I pulled the BP and $$$ contests because there was no way to track it. I have no idea how theo did it, unless he just had one of the kids do it. I posted on the sim message board asking if there was some tool out there and got no response. What am I to do? Had you volunteered to track it for me..then I can see your gripe..but you didn't. You gave a suggestion..and a good one..one that at first impression I liked. Upon thinking about it, I really didn't think it would work. I thought it was for the best interest of the res to announce it now rather than wait til the end of the year and not have the proper time to check all the stables. How bad would it have looked then?
You pulled off a tremendous feet sweeping the trainers contest. I was extremely impressed. Quite frankly this suggestion wasn't about you. And fact of the matter was, it was only a suggestion. I wanted to gage the reaction of the members.
The idea that you are having some negative affect on this residency is utter nonsense. You are a valued member of this residency and I hope that your post was just made during a bad mood.
It was never my intention to drive anyone away. I will resign from running this place this second if it keeps everyone together. This residency makes my sim experience more fun. That is all that it is about. We have tried to pick up the pieces post-theo and the group of us that have chipped in to keep things running makes it even fun to track the contests. From Dundey, Johnno, and Darnath with their weekly contributions, to the residents that gave back their hard earned prizes, to the residen0st that have stepped up and volunteered to donate credits out of their own pockets.

A possible solution to this may be something along the lines of what NWRC does. They use separated divisions for their trainer's contest. Check it out you may want to try it.
