THIS YEARS MINNESOTA FESTIVAL DAY OF RACING WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 20/2008 (WEEK 3805). ON THIS DAY ALL 16 RACES AT MINNESOTA ARE RESTRICTED AND ARE FOR MINNESOTA RESIDENT STABLES AND HORSES. 8 OF THESE RACES ARE BOUGHT BY THE RESIDENCE WHICH ARE THE CHAMPIONSHIP RACES FOR THE SEASON. THE OTHER 8 RACES ARE SPONSORED BY RESIDENTS.

THERE WILL BE THE USUAL CREDIT PRIZES AND SPECIAL CONTESTS ON OUR BIG RACE DAY.

OK I'll avoid duplicating any of the STKS conds....

I'll assume there is an option to include a RES restriction as i've never done that before.

there is a box that can be checked to make it password protected. Then the password will only be given to those residents that have an entry in that race. we make sure that each race accepts 20 entries too.

i would be shocked if they don't fill. residents are allowed one entry, but if its wednesday close to the deadline and a race hasn't filled residents are given a green light to enter a second..as long as they don't push someone beyond the 20th spot.

if you look on the main residency page you can see the past winners of all the races. (past champions i think its called).

the minnesota derby is our biggest race (well that is my opinion anyway). I have Roman Plutonium headed in that direction barring any major injury or anything.

I will take care of the 8 resident big races as posted up on the board but as a word of advice chuck, don't have the residents buy the races themselves but to sent the credits to the residence. Once you know all the races you get a hold of Mike and you will be able to get a discount on the price of bulk races and the difference in credits that are given by residents to sponsor a race and the price Mike charges us are used for prizes on the big day.

800 credits for a 50k purse. It goes up if yo want to increase the purse. I'm not sure exactly when the races will be purchased though. You should name the conditions when you know them so i can fill the top post. it allows for residents to prepare properly.

Looks like I was a little slow (as usual), and we've got a full race card. If I'm misreading, then let's add a race for older older fillies and mares (or "mature" mares as we old guys prefer to think of them), since they aren't getting much love. A 6 furlong dirt race for F&M, 3 and up.

If I'm right, and we're outta room, use my credits in some other way.

Yes these prizes are still going to be onboard for this years festival day. As for the second week of races I will announce something for that day as well. While I have not had a chance to discuss this with Chuck as of yet as to the credits in the residency available I will make sure all the credits required for these contests will be made available.

As far as I am concerned this is the best day for the rez and I hope it continues to be for many years to come.

Also when the day gets closer I will be asking residents if they want to have their namesake jockeys moved over to minnesota for the big day like I did last year.

these are no nomination races. every resident can enter one horse per race whichever horse they feel is best suited. if we get more than 20, then natural selection will decide.
