It is the time of year to free up stable space and start again. In past years I would have held onto any 3yr old in January if they were hitting 75+ speeds. It seems like this year any horse not going 80+ should be in claims or the auction.
What is your cutoff this year?
Tom

No set cut off for me Tom. It depends on many factors, including breeding and if I feel that the horse could improve with age. I'm not one to dump horses too fast, unless they were cheaply bred.
But if a 3 yo horse can't hit 75 and has tried claims already, he'll be gone sooner rather then later! _________________ 27 and counting!

How about 3yo, weren't bargain breds, tried claimers and can't hit 65? I've got three set up for breedovers. _________________ hamster-early-marmac0-rbaze3 |

Even horse is different but by this time if they have been raced 5 plus times
and are under 75 I start putting them in claiming races I have a couple in this week that have even been in stake races early on but have shown no improvement or ablity to strech out to longer distances
